Labs

The Environmental Engineering Lab is equipped with the latest instrument of water analysis. The Tests like pH, Turbidity, Hardness, Residual Chlorine, BOD, COD is being carried out. In this laboratory, many types of equipment are included. They are water analysis kit, BOD incubator, COD Digested, Digital pH meter, and various required chemicals.
This Department is having good instruments for surveying practice. The department has survey store with conventional equipment like Chain, Tape, Compass, Ranging Rod, Optical square to latest equipment like Advanced Theodolite, Total station. With this, students are getting practice with conventional equipment and also with advanced equipment. Survey work is carried out in the field, outside the laboratory room.
The laboratory of transportation engineering in the civil department is well equipped with all the required instruments and equipment that are helpful in the overall understanding and practical knowledge of a student. We have all the instruments such as Aggregate Impact test apparatus, Los Angeles Apparatus, Penetration Test Apparatus, Softening Point Apparatus, Flash and Fire Point Apparatus. The Transportation Engineering lab has equipment required to conduct all standardized tests to assess quality of highway materials.
The Computer Laboratory of the Civil Engineering Department was established to facilitate the practice for the course work of students. Computer Lab is equipped with branded computers and having essential hardware and software so student will be able to write, Draw, Tabulate, Report, Store and Retrieve. Civil engineering software including the latest versions of AutoCAD, 3D is available to students on a walk-in basis when required for project support. All System is connected to internet will help students for digital information.
Computer Laboratory Coordinator/In charge:
1. Miss Khushbu Raval
2. Miss Kartila Uchdadiya
Total number of computers in laboratory - 22
Material properties must be known for the effective use of materials. To determine the properties of materials under different conditions, testing is required. In material testing lab all the equipments are available like, Universal Testing Machine for tension, Compression, Shear, Hardness & Flexure testing, Impact machine for Charpy & Izod Impact test, Fly wheel for Mass Moment of Inertia, Deflection of Beam apparatus, Column end condition model, Searle’s apparatus for young’s modulus etc. Other equipments like Los- Angels abrasion testing machine, Automatic Compactor, Sieve Shaker, Impact value test apparatus & Electric oven are also available. We have also added truss model showing member force for better understanding of truss analysis.
Soil is important part of any structure as the load of any structure will transfer to the soil at the end. For the stability and execution of structures we need to understand various properties of Soil with the help of different soil experiments. In this laboratory of soil mechanics we have all the equipment for testing of soil like Sieves & Sieve shaker, Casagrande Apparatus, Core cutter Apparatus, permeability Apparatus, Plastic limit test apparatus, Shrinkage limit test apparatus, Sand replacement apparatus, Post hole and helical auger,  Oven, Direct shear test equipment, Automatic soil compaction equipment etc.
Concrete is the main material for the construction of civil engineering structures. For  testing of different parameters of concrete we have most of the equipments in our concrete technology laboratory like, Vicat apparatus, IS 90 micron sieve, Flakiness and Elongation test apparatus, Los Angeles Abrasion Testing machine, Impact value test apparatus, Crushing value test apparatus, All types of sieves and sieve shaker, Pycnometer test apparatus, Slump and Compaction factor test apparatus, 7.06cm mould, 15cm mould, Cylindrical mould & Beam mould, Concrete Mixture Machine, Compression Testing Machine, Vibrating Table, Rebound hammer test apparatus  etc.
